Fire Ignites At Rivian Plant Parking Lot In Normal, IL

Update: The photo below was shared on Facebook by Jack Hanson via either a drone or helicopter. You can see in the bottom right corner the vehicles impacted by the fire last night are quarantined in an area surrounded by shipping containers and fences.

The Normal Fire Department was called to the Rivian plant on Saturday night to battle a fire that ignited in the parking lot. Fire crews were called to the plant around 9:45 pm for a reported vehicle fire which was extinguished by midnight.

At this time, there is no additional information on how many vehicles were damaged or what the cause of the fire was. The Rivian plant was not impacted during this fire event.
