Ex-Apple Hardware Engineer Joins Rivian as Sr. Director of Battery Engineering

Rivian has brought on board a new Senior Director of Battery Engineering and he comes from the fruit stand. Jeff Alves spent the last 11 years at Apple working as the Director of Hardware Engineering and helped ship the first Apple Watch by leading the charging system development. Jeff was also involved with the now-canceled Apple Car project.

Now, Jeff joins the amazing team at Rivian bringing his experience from Apple to the battery engineering team. Jeff joins Jonas Reinke and DJ Novotney who also left Apple to join Rivian earlier this year.

Rivian keeps bringing on board some incredible people from various companies but having great talent come from Apple especially those who were working on the canceled car project, will truly help Rivian build even better software, hardware, and a great ecosystem.
