Costco Now Has EV Chargers—Here’s What You Need to Know

Share the News

Costco just made life a little easier for EV drivers! They’ve teamed up with Electrify America to bring fast chargers to five of their locations across the U.S. These aren’t your slow-and-steady chargers either—we’re talking speeds up to 350 kW, so you can juice up your car while loading up on bulk snacks and household essentials.

Where Can You Find Them?

Right now, Costco’s EV chargers are available at these locations:

  • Clermont, FL: 6 chargers at 4600 Collina Terrace
  • Denver, CO: 6 chargers at 4717 Airport Way
  • Loomis, CA: 14 chargers at 4107 Sierra College Blvd.
  • Pleasanton, CA: 10 chargers at 7220 Johnson Drive
  • Sacramento, CA: 10 chargers at 3881 E Commerce Way

So far, they’re only in California, Colorado, and Florida—but who knows? If this goes well, more locations could pop up soon.

What’s the Deal With These Chargers?

These stations are owned by Costco but were built with Electrify America’s help. They’re part of the Electrify America network, which means you can find them and pay for your session using their app. Pretty convenient! The chargers work with most EVs, so whether you’re driving a Rivian, Tesla (with an adapter), or something else, you’re good to go.

Oh, and the pricing? That’s up to Costco, but knowing them, it’ll probably be a good deal.

Why It’s a Big Deal

This is more than just adding chargers—it’s about making EV ownership easier. Electrify America is one of the biggest fast-charging networks out there, and by teaming up with Costco, they’re putting chargers where people go.

Costco gets to offer something valuable to its customers, and EV drivers get fast, reliable charging at a place they already visit. Win-win!

    • Level 2 at regular destination markets and malls is fine but I think the idea is that you can fill up your car at Costco with either gas or, now, electric. With electric you can potentially do it while you shop and ultimately you can save some time.

  1. The tri-city of Northern California, Fremontt/Newark, Hayward and Union city have the most EVs in this category. We have 4 Costcos within a distance of 10 to 20 minutes apart. Please install the chargers in this area. Do the numbers. It makes sense. In this area for every 5 cars, 3 are EVs. That says it all. We could be the HUB for Electrify America. Right Next to Tesla. Thank you.

  2. Greetings! As everyone knows, “Ground Zero” for EVs is Silicon Valley! You should really be installing EV chargers there first, at the Sunnyvale and Mountain View locations! Hopefully we’ll be getting them soon there anyways…
Keep the Good Ideas coming, Costco!
