Eric Wood who’s VP of User Experience at Rivian shared the following:
“During the Rivian R2/R3 reveal, the world got its first glimpse of the revolutionary Rivian halo roller haptic system, a project that I’ve been working on for the past 2 years. This system provides a naturally intuitive, tactile cockpit control system that breaks the mold of traditional steering wheel controls. The system features two 6-direction haptic wheels that can simulate movements in all dimensions including variable roller detents that respond to a specifically designed on-screen UI/UX. This type of solution could only have come about through the cross-disciplinary collaboration between vehicle design studio, vehicle UX design and electrical engineering.”
Amazing work by Eric and the whole team involved. Can’t wait to try it out!
