Electrify America is partnering with Alpitronic to roll out a new generation of DC fast chargers, and the first confirmed location is at the Florida Mall in Orlando, FL. The chargers are still fenced off and under construction, but things are moving along. I’ll be keeping an eye on the site and plan to check them out as soon as they go live. President Trump’s Department of Transportation just put a hold on new EV charging projects funded by the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program. In a letter to states, the Federal Highway Administration announced it’s suspending approval of state plans, meaning no new funds can be committed until further notice. NEVI, created under the 2022 Infrastructure Law, set aside $5 billion to expand the charging network.
