Rivian Tackles Cabin Noise in R1T and R1S Models – Here’s What You Need to Know

If you own a Rivian R1T or R1S from the 2022-2024 model years, you might have noticed some unexpected cabin noise or vibration when your A/C is running. While your electric vehicle is functioning just as it should, some customers have found the noise coming from the A/C compressor to be a bit more noticeable than what they’re used to—especially if they’re transitioning from a gas-powered vehicle.

Rivian has announced a Technical Service Bulletin to address this issue. If a customer experiences excessive noise or vibration in their vehicle while the A/C compressor is running, Rivian will provide a solution. The company plans to install brackets on the A/C lines and, if necessary, reroute a harness to reduce the vibrations and noise coming into the cabin.

It’s important to note that there’s no safety concern here—your Rivian is performing as designed. The fix is more about ensuring a quieter, more comfortable ride for those who might be sensitive to the noise.

If you’ve noticed the issue in your vehicle, Rivian encourages you to reach out. They’ll take care of the retrofit to make sure your driving experience stays as smooth and quiet as you’d expect from an EV.
