Ben & Jerry’s Unveils Electric Ice Cream Trucks with Rivian

Ben & Jerry’s is rolling out two brand-new electric “scoop trucks” built on Rivian’s Commercial Van platform, bringing ice cream to fans with a cleaner, quieter, and more sustainable twist. The first truck is making its debut at SXSW this week in Austin, Texas, giving attendees a first taste of the future of mobile ice cream delivery.

This partnership is a perfect blend of two brands that care about sustainability—Ben & Jerry’s has long been outspoken about environmental responsibility, and Rivian is on a mission to electrify everything from adventure vehicles to commercial fleets. The result? A modern take on the classic ice cream truck that doesn’t just serve up your favorite scoops—it does it without the noise, emissions, or gas-guzzling engines of the past.

And this is just the beginning. After SXSW, these electric scoop trucks will hit the road, popping up at events across the country, including in Ben & Jerry’s home state of Vermont. With a range of 161 miles per charge, these vans can keep the ice cream flowing at more events than ever, all while helping reduce reliance on fossil fuels.

“Collaborating with the Ben & Jerry’s team to build the next generation of electric scoop trucks has been an incredible experience,” said Brian Gase, Senior Director of Prototype Development at Rivian. “It’s one of those projects that just makes the team smile.”

Ben & Jerry’s US Integrated Marketing project lead, Sean Slattery, summed it up best: “Working with Rivian, an industry leader that is committed to sustainability, is an ice cream dream come true.”

Ice cream trucks have always been a symbol of fun and nostalgia, and now, thanks to Rivian, they’re also a sign of progress. Whether you’re a Rivian fan, an ice cream lover, or just someone who appreciates innovation, keep an eye out for these electric scoop trucks coming to a city near you.
