Rivian Offers Free Wi-Fi Hotspot for Owners During SoCal Wildfires

With wildfires hitting Southern California hard, Rivian is stepping up to help out owners in the area. They’re rolling out some really thoughtful perks to make life a little easier: a free Connect+ trial for in-vehicle Wi-Fi and free charging at a bunch of Rivian Adventure Network sites in SoCal.

Free Wi-Fi with Connect+

Staying connected is a big deal during an emergency, and Rivian’s making sure you don’t have to worry about it. They’ve activated a free trial of their Connect+ service, letting you use your vehicle’s built-in Wi-Fi hotspot at no cost.

The trial runs until March 16, 2025, so you’ve got plenty of time to take advantage of it. To get it set up:

  1. Go to the Settings menu on your vehicle’s Center Display.
  2. Navigate to Connect > Hotspot.
  3. Pick a name and password for your hotspot, and you’re good to go.

Whether it’s for checking wildfire updates, navigating road closures, or just keeping in touch with loved ones, this is a super handy feature to have right now.

Free Charging, Too!

On top of free Wi-Fi, Rivian is also making a bunch of their Rivian Adventure Network chargers in SoCal free to use. If you’re driving around the area, that’s one less thing to stress about. Just roll up to a charger, plug in, and recharge—for free.

Help Support the LAFD

If you’re looking for another way to help during this crisis, consider donating to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation. They provide critical funding to equip firefighters with the tools and supplies they need to battle these wildfires. Every contribution makes a difference. You can donate by visiting supportlafd.org.

At RivianTrackr, we’ve already contributed $100 to support their efforts, and we invite you to chip in as well if you’re able. It’s a simple but powerful way to show your appreciation for the brave firefighters working tirelessly to protect lives and homes.

Stay safe out there, everyone. And shoutout to Rivian for coming through when it really matters.

Shoutout to Sherwin for sharing this information with us 🙂
