Introducing RivianOS 2.0

RivianOS 2.0 is our completely reimagined operating system built from the ground up for R2. We've unified Navigation, Media, Energy, and quick controls into a sleek, ultra-intuitive design that transforms how you interact with your vehicle.

  • Updated Media app: A richer interface with larger album art, dynamic hues, and support for Apple Music, Spotify, TuneIn, TIDAL, and iHeartRadio.
  • Responsive UI and status bar: Interface elements adapt dynamically within apps, and the redesigned status bar makes key controls easier to reach while driving.
  • Redesigned Settings app: Faster to access, more context-aware, and now includes universal search.
  • Driver display feature panels: Use the Haptic Halo Wheels to adjust the climate, change drive modes, and set speed in Universal Hands-Free from the driver display.
  • Weather app: View current conditions, air quality, and a 10-day forecast on the center display, or check weather for a destination in the Navigation app. Available as part of the Connect+ experience

Haptic Halo Wheels

Use the Haptic Halo Wheels to move through key controls directly from the steering wheel, keeping your focus exactly where it belongs: the road. As you scroll and select, precise tactile feedback confirms every input.

  • Climate: Quickly adjust temperature and fan speed.
  • Media and audio: Adjust the volume, skip a song, and seamlessly manage your audio.
  • Autonomy and drive modes: Fine-tune the settings of Autonomy features and switch between drive modes with ease.
  • Driver display: Handle quick tasks, answer phone calls, and select between different views.

Universal Hands-Free

Universal Hands-Free helps reduce fatigue by enabling hands-free driving on any road with clearly marked lanes.

  • Hands-free support on most roads: Take your hands off on over 3.5 million miles of roads in the US and Canada, making your daily commute more relaxing.
  • Drive Styles: Mild, Medium, and Spicy drive styles give you a personalized Autonomy experience.
  • Co-Steer: When in Universal Hands-Free, you can easily adjust lane position by nudging the steering wheel.

Lane Change on Command

Lane Change on Command allows you to change lanes on highways with a flick of a stalk in Universal Hands-Free.

  • Driver-initiated lane changes: When you see a free space on the highway, engage your turn signal to let the car smoothly find the gap and move into it.
  • Advanced 360u00ba perception: Your Rivian will confirm the space is free before moving into it and has the ability to react to fast-approaching vehicles.
  • Dynamic visualization: When changing lanes with Lane Change on Command, the Autonomy view zoomed out, display other vehicles and lanes, to allow you to observe the system in action as a maneuver completes.

Navigation and charging

Navigation and charging are designed to work together to help make every drive feel more seamless, from departure to arrival. With integrated route planning, Google Maps-powered navigation, and charging support built into the experience, R2 helps take the extra planning out of the trip.

  • Integrated route planning: Navigation, charging stops, and energy guidance work together so it's easier to stay focused on the drive.
  • Google Maps integration: Familiar mapping and routing help make trip planning feel intuitive, whether you're heading across town or out on an adventure.
  • Charging built into the journey: Features like charging stop guidance, battery preconditioning, and seamless access to charging partners, including Rivian Adventure Network, Tesla Superchargers, Electrify America, and IONNA, help make charging feel more seamless along the way.
