Smart Charging Schedule Recommendation

Your Rivian can now automatically charge at home during off-peak times when electricity is typically cheaper, cleaner, and more reliable, while still ensuring your vehicle is ready when you need it. This smart scheduling can cut annual charging costs by 20% or more and increase your use of clean energy. Enable this feature for effortless savings, reduced emissions, and a better balance for the grid, all handled seamlessly through the Rivian mobile app (version 3.5 or later).

    • The battery pack is not the same. It’s a different chemistry so you can’t just upgrade software.

  1. When can we get “Improved 12-volt battery health detection” for “Gen 1” owners? We need this badly,,, HELP!!!

  2. I’m with Danny B., I’m wanting to upgrade my Large+ to Max. I would have thought they’d have offered it at beginning of summer for seasonal road tripping.

  3. Any additional information as to why the new digital key was delayed or when they might expect to make it available?

      • Shame, I have almost given on using my Samsung Galaxy Fold 5 as a key, the experience is *unusable*. Every few weeks my phone stops working as a key. I try to set-up the phone as key again and it fails, even if I delete everything on both sides (keys on the truck, BT connections on both sides, the whole app, caches, *everything*), it doesn’t even try to set up the phone as key when I try to force it, it never triggers the “set up” option in the console even if I force it manually on my phone. Only thing that works is going to the phone settings and choosing the “reset bluetooth and wifi” option under settings, after that I can set up the phone as key and everything works for a while, so obviously Samsung has a bug in how it handles deleted BT connections. But doing that means I lose every WiFi network configuration and I lose Bluetooth pairing with all my devices, which would be annoying on itself, but to top it off the phone loses its connection with my Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra, and there’s no way to repair it, it only allows me to “transfer the watch to this phone”, which fails no matter what I try (I guess since the watch thinks it is already on “this phone” so it doesn’t know what to do). The only thing that works is to completely reset my watch from scratch, which means reinstalling every app, configuring every setting, downloading and selecting watch faces, etc., takes me hours to do the whole thing, which is unsustainable if it happens every couple of weeks. I am thinking of smashing my $1800 phone and my $500 watch with a hammer and switching to iPhone. The Digital key update gave me hope. For now, I end up using my Tesla more than my beloved Rivian just because everything I go to the garage the Tesla unlocks automatically while my Rivian ignores me completely unless I bring my key fob or card up. Really bummed by this delay.
