Rivian just rolled out a new software update for both Gen 1 and Gen 2 vehicles, bringing a mix of fun and functional improvements. One standout is the new Spotify DJ feature, an AI-powered guide that curates music just for you and even offers commentary on the tracks and artists—available under Media > Spotify > DJ. On the driver-assist side, Rivian has improved how your vehicle gets real-time updates about road construction and speed limits, helping features like Highway Assist perform more smoothly. There are also a handful of quality-of-life upgrades, like your driver profile now saving navigation and display preferences, recent Apple Music and Spotify searches sticking around across profiles, and a slew of bug fixes—from Alexa volume issues to faster infotainment app loading. Just make sure your vehicle’s connected to Wi-Fi to get the latest data automatically.

New Feature in Spotify

Spotify now offers DJ, an AI-based guide that can play songs recommended for you and commentary about the artists and their music. We're also made general improvements for a better listening experience.

To activate DJ, go to Media > Spotify and choose DJ. When the DJ playlist is active, you can choose DJ on the media panel to play a different set of songs.

Data Updates for Driver Assistance FeaturesGen 1 Only

We've improved driver assistance data updates, so the vehicle receives the latest status of highway or road construction, updates of certain speed limits, and other data to optimize availability and safety of Highway Assist and other driver assistance features.

For your vehicle to automatically receive updates, connect your vehicle to Wi-Fi. After you vehicle receives an update, it automatically applies the update in the background, so you can drive the vehicle and use driver assistance features. To view the progress of a data update, go to the quick control Settings > Vehicle > Updates on the center display

NOTE

If the vehicle isn't connected to Wi-Fi when an update is available, the vehicle notifies you on the center display.nnnnIf highways undergo or finish construction, this may affect the availability of Highway Assist and other driver assistance features.
