Write a ReviewGreat tire
I’ve been driving Toyo OC AT III tires on my last three trucks and SUVs. Needless to say I’m a huge fan of these tires, and the electric vehicle version doesn’t disappoint either. They’re surprisingly quiet for their tread pattern, which I love the way it looks. They handle fantastic on highways and curvy mountain roads. Snow performance is above average, which is what I expect from a general all-terrain tire.
However, the biggest difference between my current set and the non-electric tire version is how they handle in the rain. I’m not sure if it’s the vehicle or the slightly narrower tire compared to my previous sets, but these tires tend to hydroplane in heavy rain. I never had that issue when I was on a similar set that was 285s. Fortunately, Northern California typically has a short rainy season, so it’s not a major concern for me.
Over the past 12,000 miles, my efficiency has been 1.98 miles per kilowatt. I also did a long drive over the weekend up and down the mountains and averaged 2.2 miles per kilowatt for the trip. That’s about 72-75 miles per hour when possible, with six passengers, the air conditioning on, a full pack of gear in the frunk and rear storage, and going from 500 ft above sea level to 7300 ft above sea level. I’m happy with that, but I’ll try new wheels and the Hankook ION HT as a summer tire set.
Great AT tire with dedicated EV option
Quiet, comfortable, and capable with better treadwear than factory AT option. Has slightly more sidewall flex in steering response than OE AT tire, but otherwise excellent handling characteristics. Performs well in wet and snowy conditions.
