Dependable Tire
I’ve had my ATP II’s for just under 3 years now. I have put over 54K miles on these tires and they still have some life in them. They have worn evenly with 6K mile rotations. The tread is down to 8/32”. I may replace them this next winter if they get down to the wear bars. These have been great tires for me. They have performed well in every condition: rain, snow, mud, off-road, sand, etc. I have towed 6400 miles on these tires. I have been on rocky and dirt terrain on the White Rim Trail in Canyonlands, Monument Valley, Jushua Tree NP, Death Valley NP, the sand dunes of Pismo Beach. They performed really well in Tahoe when other people in our group were slipping in the snow. These tires are rugged and won’t disappoint.

Great OEM replacement for a fraction of the cost
So I have had the ATP II for around 5000 miles and have had some time to think through how I feel about them. I will break this into catagories below. I am coming from the Pirelli Scorpion AT Plus that come standard on the 20" rim from the factory. I did a couple of months of research as the road noise is what ultimately made me swap with 6/32nds and 5/32nds. I was dissapointed with the wear as I was only able to eek out 20k or so miles on the tires before we were getting close to the 4/32nds mark with a riggid tire rotation every 6k miles. I had cupping in some areas that was as low as 3/32nds. Ultimatly this made me decide to move from an SL tire to an LT tire to increase wear resistance with the weight of the R1T + my gear. I landed on the Cooper ATP II based on several factors predomentantly reviews on other Offroad rigs that I saw in the F250 Chevy 2500 range to understand how it peforms under the weight of those vehicles, as well as cost. The tire at time of purchase was $289 and that was too good of a deal to let go at nearly half of the OEM tire. Currently MSRP is $309 and that is what I am reviewing it at. Use Case: Daily driving(18 miles both ways, my comute is 50/50 highway and city roads, average speed is 56 mph across the entire trip) with limited lights or stops. I also tow a trailer once a month approx. 100 miles, 50 miles each way(6000 pounds with trailer and car), and camp every other month which involves a long road trip 289 miles, to private land, and a 9 mile dirt road that is not maintained, with the exception of a dozer clearing every other year. As well as driving around hte area on similar dirt roads to beaches and fishing alcove (its basically a level 3/4 jeep trail, with areas requiring 10+ inches of ground clearance(Standard FX4 F150 will bottom out consistently on the trail) and debris removal as needed. Effeciency: Over 5120 miles of mixed driving from December 15th – March 6, with mild winter conditions I am at 1.97 m/kwh. This is roughly the same as the OEM tire based on the tracking I did the first year of ownership I was seeing 1.90 m/kwh, the difference is likely negligable or roughly 1% based on current testing. Ride Comfort: I am very pleased with this tire. The ride comfort seems to be on-par with the Pirelli Scorpion AT Plus from a road feel, ride feel perspective, I am not super discerning so take this with a grain of salt, but I think they are near enough that its a non-factor. The road noise seems to be on-par with the Pirelli Scorpion AT Plus when they were new. I have not made it far enough into the tread block to know if they will get as loud as the scorpions, but based on long term review, my understanding is they will only have a very slight increase in road noise, and not the massive uptick that the Scorpions had after 10k miles. So far they are very quite and do not over power the bosch motor noise for refrence. Off road: I have not used these in extremely muddy sitiuations yet, but on dirt trails, and rocky trails they have been excellent and I could not tell you they were rated any worse then the srocpions, maybe if you need to tackle level 7+ trails you might notice a difference, but for the type of off roading I normally handle these are more then enough. I did use them in a snow storm in February, and in the 10 inches we got there, they preformed VERY well. No different then the Scorpions. They are not 3Peak rated, but are M&S rated. Will it last: Hopefully, I have lost roughly 1/32nd over the last 5100 miles, which sets these to be right around 4/32nds after I hit 50,000 miles which is close to the expected wear of 60,000 by cooper. Will continue to update however. Overall: If you are looking for a far less expensive tire then the OEM or high end competitors, and are predomenantly on-road, towing, with occasional off road duties, but want a tire that looks like it means business, this tire has done very good for me. It saved me roughly $800 with no appreciable losses for my use case, and I would buy again.
