Rivian Teases R2 Capability with Water Fording Clip

Rivian just dropped a clip of the R2 production-intent model charging through water at their fording test facility and honestly, I’m even more hyped than before. They didn’t give us official numbers, but I’m guessing it’ll come in under the R1T (43.1 inches) and R1S (43.0 inches). Even so, the fact that Rivian is already showing it off in action says a lot.

I’ve seen a lot of the R2 teasers over the past few months, but this one hits differently because it shows that the R2 isn’t just a “budget Rivian.” It’s still built for adventure, still capable, and still carries that same DNA that made me fall in love with the brand. The R1T and R1S have set the bar high, and while the R2 won’t match them on every number, it doesn’t look like it’s going to shy away from real off-road use either.

The hype for this thing just keeps building. Between seeing camo R2s in the wild, pilot builds hitting the road, and now this fording test, it feels like Rivian is letting us peek behind the curtain little by little. I can’t wait to see the full specs, but honestly, clips like this are doing a great job reminding me why I’m so excited for this vehicle.
