Tesla is ramping up production of the NACS adapters according to a post on X by the official @TeslaCharging account. Tesla says that the Gigafactory New York team is now producing up to 8,000 weekly units. Tesla is also working with manufacturers like Rivian and Ford to ramp product up and get the official Tesla NACS adapter in owners’ hands so they can utilize it at compatible Tesla Supercharging stations across North America.
In the meantime, while you wait for the official NACS adapter to arrive, RivianTrackr recommends the A2Z Typhoon Pro NACS to CCS adapter (affiliate link with discount). We’ve utilized this adapter for well over 12,000 miles on our own 2022 Rivian R1T and it has performed phenomenally.
Note: Rivian discourages the use of 3rd party NACS adapters and while many owners have not reported any issues using them, we at RivianTrackr still want to make you aware of this.
