Rivian Rolls Out Adaptive High Beams for Gen 2 Owners

Gen 2 Rivian owners are in for a treat with the latest software update 2024.27, which introduces High Beams Assist with a new Adaptive option. This feature automatically activates high beams in low-light conditions when the vehicle doesn’t detect street lights or other illumination from the road. Additionally, the Adaptive option partially dims the high beams when the front camera detects oncoming traffic.

X user Chris Glazebrook shared an early look at this new lighting feature in video clips from his Gen 2 R1S. In the video, you can see the headlights curve with the road as you approach a turn. When using high beams, the system intelligently dims specific sections of the lights to avoid blinding oncoming drivers.
