Javier Varela from Volvo Cars Joins Rivian as COO

Javier Varela has joined the Rivian family as their new Chief Operations Officer after spending the last 7+ years at Volvo. Javier brings 34 years of experience from his time at Volvo, Stellantis, and Toyota.

Javier will be central to the company’s growth and profitability, and will also oversee operations including manufacturing and logistics, especially at this crucial time as Rivian gets ready to start R2 production.
