RJ Drops Another R2 Tease—And It’s Packed With Clues
Rivian CEO RJ Scaringe is back on social media teasing more behind-the-scenes details of what’s coming for the R2. In his latest post, he showed off the “Maximus” drive unit—a new motor setup that will be featured in the upcoming SUV when it launches in 2026.
But the Maximus wasn’t the only interesting detail in the photo. Zoom in and you’ll spot something even more exciting: adaptive shocks. That means the R2 will likely offer a smoother, more controlled ride with adjustable suspension—something a lot of Rivian fans were hoping for, especially at a lower price point.
And in true RJ fashion, he left a few hints for eagle-eyed followers. In the background, you can see what appear to be R2 prototypes or pre-production units being assembled. It’s not confirmation of production just yet, but it’s a strong sign things are moving quickly behind the scenes.
