What’s Coming In Rivian Update 2025.06

There’s a LOT of exciting features (especially for Gen 2) in this long awaited update. After Wassym teased that we would get wheel swaps and the ability to purchase performance upgrades, owners have been anxiously waiting.

  • Enhanced Highway Assist (Gen 2 only): Rivian’s Autonomy Platform+ enables hands-free Highway Assist in certain conditions, using Driver Attention Detection to ensure focus. Flashing hands indicate availability.
  • Go Chime (Gen 2 only): Alerts you when the vehicle ahead drives away from a stop.
  • Wheel and Tire Swap: Update your vehicle’s wheel and tire configuration for accurate range estimates and optimal performance. Save up to six configurations, track mileage, and set rotation reminders in-vehicle or via the mobile app.
  • Rally Mode: Performance Dual-Motor vehicles now have enhanced capability with the new Rally mode, accessible under Drive Modes > Off-Road on the center display.
  • Performance Upgrade: Unlock more torque, faster acceleration, and three new drive modes—Sport, Soft Sand, and Rally—on eligible Dual-Motor vehicles.
  • Auto-Tilting Side Mirrors: Side mirrors can tilt down in Reverse to assist with parking. Customize and save positions to your profile.
  • Additional Improvements: Enhanced sound system with better spatial imaging, bass response, and cabin balance. Charging updates improve status accuracy, battery efficiency, and DC fast charging reliability. Proximity unlocking, phone key setup, and Roomy entry/exit are more consistent. The Rivian app (v2.20.0+) now allows remote charge port control and real-time navigation updates. Connectivity is more stable, with improved Wi-Fi switching. The driver display now warns about cold weather effects, shows real-time tire pressure, and enhances vehicle visualization. Various bug fixes improve efficiency graphs, Highway Assist availability, camera views, infotainment stability, and media playback.

  1. Gen 1 infotainment stability is a must. Since the last update I have to soft reset every 3-5 drivers to keep the navigation from bugging out active audio and straight up not being responsive to touch…

As a cold weather (MN) owner. Battery efficiency and charge capability are to of mind this season.

I would personally like a visual road map to updates for Gen 1 , because these latest updates read like ‘gen 1 is stable and options are maxed out’.

  2. What about messaging?…..I need that more than I need rally mode because I do so many rally races….LOL
