Rivian Opens Fleet Orders for Commercial Van, Deliveries Start in April

Rivian is officially opening fleet orders for its Commercial Van, and some businesses are already getting early access invites. Deliveries begin in April, and companies can choose between the Delivery 500 Series and the Delivery 700 Series. While Amazon has been the exclusive customer until now, others like DHL and AT&T have already signed on to use these vans, signaling broader adoption in the commercial EV space.

The Rivian Commercial Van starts at $79,900 and features a single-motor front-wheel-drive system producing 320 horsepower and 299 lb-ft of torque. It’s powered by an LFP 100kWh battery pack, supports 11kW AC charging, and can handle up to 100kW DC fast charging. The Delivery 500 Series has an estimated range of 161 miles, while the Delivery 700 Series offers 153 miles of estimated range. The van also includes a jump seat, Rivian’s Driver+ hardware, and 4G LTE via AT&T for connectivity.

With fleet electrification ramping up, Rivian’s van could be a serious competitor to Ford’s E-Transit and GM’s BrightDrop lineup. The combination of Rivian’s software, safety tech, and connectivity might give it an edge for companies looking to modernize their delivery operations.
