LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) uses laser light to create detailed 3D maps of the environment, essential for autonomous driving systems. This technology enhances safety and navigation by providing precise, real-time mapping.

Rivian’s vehicles currently feature the Driver+ (Gen 1) and Rivian Autonomy Platform (Gen 2) systems with cameras, radar, and ultrasonic sensors for adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and automated emergency braking.
